Health & Safety
North Country Health Consortium is engaged in projects to develop a local public health system. The goal of these programs is to ensure the health and safety of people living in communities throughout northern New Hampshire.

The website, NCHC Help, is a central location for the latest information on:

  • bioterrorism and emergency preparedness,
  • local health department contacts,
  • emergency medical services and training resources.

Community Health
Consultation and technical assistance are available to individuals, groups and health care agencies on:

  • health promotion and disease prevention,
  • aging,
  • maternal and child health,
  • special projects,
  • access to resources,
  • health career planning,
  • issues in the recruitment and retention of health professionals.

AHEC functions as a creative problem solver and information resource for healthcare facilities in rural and underserved areas. AHEC's professional staff assists community facilities looking to maintain, expand, and enhance services by:

  • grant writing,
  • locating resources,
  • connecting to the expertise of academic health centers.
